I was given the privilege of reading an advance reader copy of Dia Mixon's new book, "When I Feel at Home." Wow, is this book a treat that you will want to get your hands on!

This lyrical rhyming book weaves a Spanglish story about a beautiful little girl, Alucia, who has learned that home is wherever you make it. On each page, we read about a different area of her life, from dance, to food, to sleep, play, and how she interacts with her family. Each one describes her South American heritage and how it blends with her life in her new home in the US. It perfectly captures the life of so many kids who live with one foot in each culture. It describes her healthy relationship with both homes, and shows that it is possible to have your heart in two places at once!
